Illinois Governor Suspends Business With Bank Of America
Katharine Zaleski | December 8, 2008 10:56 AM

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich announced Monday that he is asking all Illinois government agencies to suspend business with Bank of America. Blagojevich contended that Bank Of America received a multi-billion dollar bailout from the government and should accordingly restore credit to the Republic Windows & Doors company in Chicago.

6. Yeah! Now what can DU do to show solidarity with the workers?
I think sending them flowers would be kind of silly but maybe we could raise money to buy them food or X-mas presents or something. Any ideas?

7. Yippee!!
I am not that surprised. A significant sector of the Republican demographics did not want the BailOut and did want to insist that if the BailOut happened, credit be restored to the smaller buisinesses and not just the 20 Billion dollar institutions that are being befriended by Paulson over in places like Spain.

Rahm or Barack? My guess is Rahm did the dirty work, Obama gave the order.

The ball is in BofA's court. This is running non-stop now on CNN! I hope it is the start of a trend.

15. It's about time that the people of this country...
...started calling out corporations who have taken on the personalities of characters straight
out of "The Sopranos."

We need more of this! I applaud this Gov's actions, but maybe "We The People" need to start speaking
out and blacklisting companies who are in the business of screwing over the good citizens of this
country.

If small businesses and individual card holders threatened to cancel their BOA accounts--that would
be a nice first step in telling corporate America that WE control this democracy, not their greed
and their billions that are used to put politicians in their pockets.

It's ONE of the many ways that we can begin to take back our country!
