JERRY FALWELL: And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say "you helped this happen."
PAT ROBERTSON: Well, I totally concur, and the problem is we have adopted that agenda at the highest levels of our government. And so we're responsible as a free society for what the top people do. And, the top people, of course, is the court system..

I think if she's going to attempt to smear him daily for months on TV no less, then she shouldn't be shocked as she seemed to be when he retaliates, reverend or not. Then she has the nerve to say he's behaving in a non-christian way. And her own behavior tell us what?

I wish I had seen it and Joy trying to choke back the laughter because of the great one-liner she was thinking.
And the fact that she thinks she's in any position to be judging someone about acting in "an unchristian way" is just the epitomy of hypocrisy.........

and his comments do so b/c he's different and bucking the system. Pretty much just an attention-getting thing. Sort of like the people who idolize Che Guevara (and probably have no idea who or what he was).

I support Wright and Trinity UCC because he and they have supported my political goals and my community for years. I knew him and his church long before I knew Obama, and I became interested in Obama because of his membership at Trinity. I always stand with those that stand with me.
I think it is pretty obvious that those who knock Rev Wright are victims of the soundbite culture, and know nothing of his work, nor the postitioins of the church he built.

34. I'm sure he is a good man and has done many good things but |
|
he might just have a personality quirk that desires to attract attention to himself and might go too far sometimes. Which is a bunch of words meaning he isn't perfect and is human like the rest of us. Ultimately I think he means well (perhaps not to Elizabeth).
Elizabeth Hasselback seems to me to have a flawed world view and as a result has closed her mind to other ideas. This may make her dumb, or just that she is young -- I don't know. However, I can remind everyone that it wasn't that long ago when Arianna Huffington was a Republican.
People grow and change. Sometimes we just have to give them a chance without being so "judgy" all the time. My own husband sometimes says the most stupid obnoxious things and, I cut him a break (biting my tongue) and give him a Look. He is very lucky he does not have a high public profile.

Obama's fault. Time to start Impeachment procedures because of a stupid remark his former minister made. :sarcasm:
This is pretty minor stuff in the grand scheme of offensive things that have been uttered from the pulpit by ministers this election cycle.
