Pakistan says 300 foreign militants operating in two tribal regions
Inspector General Frontier Constabulary (FC) Major General Tariq Khan said that Bajaur and Mohmand tribal regions would be purged completely of these foreign militants.

"Over 300 foreign militants are still residing in the jurisdiction of Bajaur and Mohmand agencies," Khan told Geo television in an interview.

"The ongoing operation would be continued till total ouster of the foreign militants," he said.

Pakistan says that hundreds of local and foreign militants have been killed in the major offensive launched in Bajaur last year.

"The FC would not be called back after the completion of operation, which is underway to purge the whole tribal areas from foreign militants," Khan said.

He urged tribal elders not to allow foreign militants to reside in their areas.

"Taliban and militants are involved in the growing abduction incidents as they are short of money."

Urging economic and social solution to the issue of militancy, Khan said military operation could not provide total solace from the menace of militancy and extremism.
