I understand now...GOP planned to destroy middle class...
That is why they scramble to give financial industry billions with no questions asked and balk at giving automakers help.

They WANT to see the middle class and unions destroyed.

Executives will still get their millions and move into other jobs. Everyone else..."Nothing but soup for you!"

I wasn't sure about the auto bailout until the GOP united against it...they really aren't just burning the bridges folks.

4. Well Reid thinks they are a smelly bother anyway.
Fewer smelly middle class tourists stinking up the Capitol this way.Party affiliation means nothing to these senators. They are as disconnected from their malodorous constituents as french aristocrats in the crumbling ancien regime.

7. That's actually an excellent analogy. I see it just like that, as well.
They no longer serve the interests of their typical constituent.

20. No problem
That's just more people to carry the torches and pitchforks when the time comes.

Look for a bubble in pitchfork sales.

2. Well Mission Accomplished! then.
x( Rather short sighted of them, though, because when all the good paying jobs are replaced with low wages, then no one will be able to afford their cheap chinese made crap.

3. Planned to destroy the middle class? No.
They're pushing a very specific economic agenda. The destruction of the middle class just happens to be a major side effect of that agenda.

6. About 120 pages into "The Shock Doctrine" and it is clear
That that is exactly what they are trying to do. It explains the entire last eight years from the coup of 2000, 911, New Orleans, Black water, The Halliburton detention camps in the U.S., Torture and the banking collapse. Even the bailout. This is the neocon dream for the world put forth by Milton Friedman and the rest of his world domination cronies. The last 8 years have not been a series of blunders by an inept fool, they have been a deliberate attempt to subvert the Democratic process, destroy the labor movement and funnel all the wealth to the top. They have been pretty successful, all things considered.

10. Bill Kristol said it in 1993.
The Republic Party will oppose every act of Democrats to help the middle class. They care only about winning, and they know that if Democrats are allowed to do something to help the middle class, Democrats will win.

13. of course they planned it. it was essential part of their plan to alienate most voters
They don't help the lower income segment of the population and if they drive away the middle class, that leaves them with a tiny sliver of the population to support them. Of course, that sliver includes a lot of college educated folks who are capable of figuring out that the repubs poliicies may be good for the rich in the short run but they're bad for the country in the long run and therefore shouldn't be supported. But the repubs had no choice because their ultimate goal was to render themselves a barely viable political force.

And they've done a good job at carrying out their plan.

to replace Hillary's Senate Seat, the ruling political elites will ensure us "little people" will be given extra chocolate rations. :eyes:

Truth is, the "political nobility" have no idea (or have long since forgotten) what it's like to scrip and save JUST to make ends meet. As such, they will keep serving their Corporate Masters on Wall Street while local governments grift the little people - lining their pockets while offering low-wage jobs to supposedly BUILD-UP our illustrious infrastructure.

Many "Democrats" NEED to be hopeful but, IMO, now is not the time to be complacent. :(

Yes, by all present indicators we're 100% screwed (those of us not worth a cool million), but MOST Average Americans are docile and slow to fully realize the impending long cold winter.

14. The goal is global oligarchy, the destruction of the American middle class
is simply an added benefit.

We are certainly doing our part to bring this dream to fruition.

Just keep re-electing the NewBlueDLCDINODogs and their corporate masters, and we will prevail!

19. They TRUST executives. They don't Trust workers.
No matter what happens, and how responsible the executives are, our politicians trust the executives but not us little folk.

So they're not going to risk any of "their" money going to any of us little folk. But if it's going to executives they know they can trust then it's all okay.

x(

There really does seem to be a oligarchy, a small insulated group of protected elites, running everything over our heads.

22. I'm not sure what was missed from the sales pitch for the globalization scam
How sane people thought we should jump start economies around the world by sending them all of our work and industry to be replaced by unknown "next generation/High Tech" careers, is well beyond me.

Now the genie has been let out of the bottle and some things cannot be undone but I still figure would should try soften our landing the best we are able.

24. Well, yeah. You only just noticed?
The union-bashing has been SOP for the GOP for at least thirty years. As for destroying the middle class, that wasn't their aim so much as a side-effect of their actual aim (concentrating money and power in the upper class). True, it's a side-effect that they're entirely comfortable with.
