Siegelman: Obama Administration Will Not Let Rove Off The Hook

A key Congressional leader has assured former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman that a Barack Obama administration will seek to hold Bush White House strategist Karl Rove accountable for possible interference with the U.S. Justice Department.

"I was at the Democratic National Convention and I asked John Conyers if Rove would be pursued in the next administration," Siegelman said. "And he said--and I quote--'Let me put your fears to rest; it will happen. We are committed to the long haul.'"

Siegelman's comments came in an exclusive interview on Tuesday evening with Tommy Stevenson of the Tuscaloosa News. Earlier that day, Siegelman was at the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta for oral arguments on his appeal.

Siegelman long has maintained that Rove was at the heart of a Republican plan to prosecute him on bogus charges. The trial ended with convictions against Siegelman and former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy.

"We have evidence that Rove was involved and sworn testimony," Siegelman said. "This could be the string that unravels the whole Rove criminal enterprise."

1. I care more about the *crime family than the " Rove criminal enterprise"
But I am glad as long as they start somewhere

2. I fully expect, if Rove's ass is put in the sling, he will quickly resort to
"I was only following orders!"

4. Let's hope the whole bunch get their just desserts.
I've had that particular carpet pulled out from under me a few too many times, though.

5. Rove will vanish on January 21...His Stay Out Of Jail Expires...
This oxygen thief is at the center of two major investigations that aren't going away on January 20th, and he won't have the Executive Privilidge and Pardon power to save his bacon. The Rover going to be compelled to testify and answer some very difficult questions. He's in the cross hairs of investigations that go to the core of the corruption Obama was elected to remove and unless these cases are allowed to move forward, the integrity of the Justice Department can't be resotred.

It looks like the stone wall that protected Rove is also breaking down, and here's wishing Gov. Siegleman the best in persuing his case to not only full vindication but also to bring down those who orchestrated this criminal, partisan prosecution.

Cheers...

6. If Rove gets hooked so will most of this admin, therefore...
extremely doubtful.

Though that is a plate of crow Id happily devour, if it came to pass.
