to make themselves look good for re-election, so they stood up the Unions and GM and the Dems, KNOWING Booshe will for once, do the right thing and release the money. Then they can blame him and "wash their hands".

They were trying to impress the foreign money that pays them to vote against anything that may help the unions out. If they could have gotten there demands it would have allowed the foreign companies to lower their wages to "compete". It was also a shot at breaking the union, which is their main goal. Since Reagan the goal has been to do everything in the power of the republican party to lower wages, and do away with any kind of benefits.

There base didn't get them elected in NOV.They already have their base.Fighting for Japanese cars will come back to bite them in the ass in 4 years.
