David Shuster, a Washington correspondent, will succeed David Gregory at 6pm.
When David Gregory was tapped for "Meet the Press," his 6PM slot on MSNBC became open. The New York Times' Brian Stelter reports that it will be filled by David Shuster, who has been substituting for Gregory and who became Keith Olbermann's "Countdown" fill-in when Rachel Maddow was granted her own show this summer:

MSNBC is replacing one David with another on its 6 p.m. program, "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue."

The cable news channel, owned by NBC Universal, is expected to announce Monday that David Shuster, a Washington correspondent, will succeed David Gregory on the political program, people with knowledge of the move said Sunday night

2. I've liked Shuster ever since he basically told Morning Joe to go to hell
during the Democratic convention.

I'll have to make a point to tune into MSNBC at 6 p.m. more often now.

11. Cant say I do...
He seems to be just as sensationalistic as the rest of the bunch. He is like Wolf Blitzer, able to babble for hours, yet say nothing.

4. I wish they'd change the format...
Shuster would shine with a bit more flexibility and a chance to be a bit more irreverent.

9. I thought Gregory did a good job yesterday on MYP. I didn't
like him much on 1600 Pa. Ave. but I saw a difference in him yesterday.
