I now know where I want to be on 1/20/09 |
|
As a DC suburb resident, I was debating taking my daughter to this historic occasion, but the wife put her foot down due to the crowds. (More my Irish-stubborn "I'm going THAT way" daughter's fault than the crowds.)
However, as we're currently down visiting the relatives in Orlando, I've got a better idea: In the Disney World Hall of Presidents, right around swearing-in time, chucking shoes at the Bush animatronic.
Don't care if it costs me a lifetime ban (and with free tickets from the sister-in-law, that's a real threat). Anyone else? If we get enough, I might just make the 14-hour drive myself.

1. About 15 years ago I was at the Hall of Presidents and |

when the Nixon robot stood up I embarrassed my friends by loudly asking "Where's the blood on his hands?" Now days, I'd wait for the Bush II robot before I asked that question.

2. I think Bush II is already in there. |

It's shut down right now; according to the sis-in-law (who works for the mouse), that's to get Obama's installed in time for the inauguration.
