Tribune Reports: No Drew Peterson Engagement (Way weird story)
CHICAGO -- The Tribune reported this morning on its Web site that the rumored engagement of Sgt. Drew Peterson is just that: A rumor.

According to the report, The woman to whom Drew Peterson claims to be engaged lives with her boyfriend and no intention of marrying the former Bolingbrook police sergeant, the boyfriend and her father said today.

On Wednesday, Peterson's publicist issued a statement saying that he was engaged. The woman's family confirmed that Peterson had given a ring to Christina Raines, 23, a Romeoville waitress with two young kids.

According to the report, her boyfriend said, "She never said, 'Yes, I will marry you.'" said Raines' boyfriend, Mike, who declined to give his full name. He and Raines have dated for two years, have lived together for more than a year and both work at a Bolingbrook restaurant.

According to the report, Raines’ family are casual acquaintances with Peterson, who frequented the restaurant where Christina works.

According to the report, the boyfriend said Raines and Peterson have been casually hanging out in recent months, despite his insistence that she stay away from Peterson. He said the engagement announcement by Peterson is revenge for her rebuffing his advances.

According to the report, Christina hasn't seen or spoken to Peterson in more than a week.
Peterson, who declined to reveal his fiancé's identity, maintained his weeklong silence on Saturday.

In the report, Ernie Raines said his daughter is “naive and vulnerable and didn't want to cause a confrontation” when Peterson, 54 and still married to his missing third wife, slipped a ring onto her finger more than a week ago.

People should stay far away from this man.

Now Nancy Grace will have something else to become apoplectic about.

1. How can any woman be stupid enough to associate with
this guy. She apparently got pretty close to him if he was able to slip on a ring. If I were her boyfriend I would kick her ass.

3. And if she had a boyfriend like you it's easy to see why she would associate
with an abuser.

"If I were her boyfriend I would kick her ass."

4. Bolingbrook neighborhood is bazaar
I worked as a garden center vendor for the Home Depot very near to the Peterson home. Let me tell you it's so bazaar, right out of a movie. Her car was found behind the strip mall facing a small airport. The searches, media, helicopters for weeks. Dredging the run-off reservoirs behind the Home Depot and the crazy reality this neighborhood next to the airport has had to deal with. The neighbor that heads up vigils for Stacey and has cameras trained on Drew's house. She knows she can never sell her house so she watches his every move. The businesses, restaurants, and bars that try to ban him from crossing their thresholds and taking the stage in his defiant sideshow. You see Drew loves the attention. He goes out of his way to make his presence known. He has approached me at Home Depot three times since Stacey disappeared. Overly friendly and wanting gardening advice on perennials. (Yea, right!) Of course I have yet to see him buy anything.

A day doesn't go by that I don't think about Drew and his dead ex wife, his missing present wife, his children, and now the young women who he tries to attract. It is bazaar!
