I'm kinda inclined toward those lesser known public officials who go about doing work that really helps the public instead of lecturing everyone to feed their own ego.

Kucinich seems like one of the best examples in recent history of the latter.

Congressional hearings are stage performances, but Congresspeople or Senators who ask penetrating questions often bring out things that administrations are trying to hide.
Kucinich is so busy feeding his own ego and performing for his audience that he avoids critical questioning.
