USA: Vice President seeks to justify torture, secret detention and Guantánamo

Torture.

Secret detention.

Guantanamo.

I'm confused. Vice President Cheney admits to crimes... proudly. I know people here have certainly noticed but why doesn't the general American public seem to notice?

I've read some right wing sites and I can see they have also noticed BUT... They are ok with it. More then ok with it, they think it is/was the right thing to do. WTF? How freakin insane is that?

There really should be only one American response. Outrage, followed by arrest and a fair trial. Based on the freely given confession, the only result should be a conviction.

2. Who's going to prosecute him? The Bush administration?
It is to laugh.

Our hope is that the example of Pinochet or Eichmann is followed. It may take years, but both of those hyenas were run to ground at last. I'm guessing, though, that Cheney is on so many pills for his heart problems that he rattles when he walks. If the heat starts closing in and it looks like justice might at last be served, he'll just skip his meds for a day and slip away into the quiet oblivion of death.

4. Different take. Cheney is throwing his power in our faces. He is going to brag about
committing war crimes and then bush will pardon him. He doesn't care if his crimes are justified to the public.
