Holy Moley! It's the Duggars on TLC all day!
Duggar marathon today on TLC. And tonight I guess it's the birthing of the latest one. Enjoy!

My question is.....do they get some sort of financial assistance? They have vans, an RV, a nice beautiful 7,000 ft home, how can they afford to feed and clothe these children?

1. They're sponsored by Kraft and Hersheys.
Either way, we're all paying for them - directly or otherwise.

2. As long as you've got TV time, you have income.
Especially if you're a freak show.

4. The next generation's fertility rate will drop to near zero
I have a family of 12 among my cousins.

I think they produced three grandchildren among them and they're all over 40 now.

Huge families are great if you don't grow up in one.

My mother was one of five; my father was one of eleven.

I'm an "only child" and was the "only grandchild" of my mother's family for over 12 years. (Christmas was ALL MINE.) I have no children ... and there's only ONE male (a 1st cousin) carrying on my father's family name. (And he's a real loser.)

9. My mother's family's fertility rate plunged
as soon as they got out of Ireland and away from the church.

My great grandmother had twelve.

My grandmother had one.

My mother had one.

I have none, as much due to health and financial issues as to resisting the idea.

I grew up surrounded by a gaggle of grand aunts, all of whom were suffragettes and most of whom produced one offspring.

My fertile aunty was from Limerick, so the pattern is repeating there, too.

7. My wife was watching that shit.
God, what an insipid group of people.

They're like the Flanderses, only with the amusing charm.

8. Lately TLC seems to be airing Christian only families.
They used to have shows dealing with other religions, like Shalom in the Home. Lately, it's been all-Christian with an insane amount of kids programs. But then maybe I just don't watch enough TLC to get the full spectrum.

12. Gotta support all those childen..Why not exhibit them?
In days gone by, there were the traveling freak shows & the carnivals, that put "oddities" on display...now we give them their own Teeveeshow, and pay them, instead of their managers..

15. It's not...pregnancy takes alot from the body
later they are going to show up to the birth of the latest one, and saw a preview of that show, they said it was a risky one because of scarring of the uterus, which isn't good.

16. Trust me, I know.
I had two very large children for my small body. As a result, I've had numerous root canals, I need to have the muscles in my stomach repaired (and, while they're at it, I'm going to use my own dime to have them cut off the excess skin that was stretched beyond belief) and I have a bad back. And, minorly, I have the beginning of spider veins.

I can't imagine having two litters worth!!
