If Sen. Corker (R) Tennessee had not been so busy Union Busting and destroying middle class workers.. maybe he would have known about the biggest toxic spill since Exxon Valdez...

1. Good question.
Do you live in Tennessee?

Do you know what will happen to the plant?

Besides the 15 families whose homes were destroyed, is anyone else in the area without power because of the accident?

3. No.. I dont live there, but I was thinking about re-locating to the area. (Crossville)
.. But not anymore. They say the water supply of 3 or 4 States will be affected.

This is toxic stuff full of Mercury and other nasty things.. going to seep into water supply for hundreds of miles.

4. I'm sorry I didn't notice your FLORIDA AVATAR! (LOL!)
That's not good, especially since the area was hit with a drought as well.

5. Yes, the area has been in drought for 2 or 3 years now.
I keep track of weather because I want to start a berry farm (raspbery, blackberry, strawberry) etc. Florida is great for Oranges and Bananas (strawberries in the winter months) .. but much to hot for other produce and berries.

I thinking about Tennessee because of it's versatile climate... but now that the waters supply is poison... not a good thing.

8. I don't think it will hit Crossville. Different watershed.
Crossville is beautiful, on top of the Cumberland Mountain on the Cumberland Plateau. I went to TTU in Cookeville, and fell in love with the area. living in Nashville, I'm not far away and visit quite often, although I haven't been to Virgin Falls in quite a while (one hell of a hike!).

10. Yes... I really liked the Cumberland Plateau area.....
I make jams and jellies and preserves. Berries need that somewhat cooler climate. I think Crossville would have worked very well.

I hope the people there are alright. Especially if they have livestock and crops. And, if they have water-wells and have to drink the water.

Shame on Bob Corker and his Republican buddies to let this happen to a beautiful area.

11. Corker is an ass. Alexander isn't too bad as far as Repukes go.
Bad thing about the last election is that TN's State Legislature went from Dem to Repuke. We still have Bredesen as Gov, though, and he's doing a great job.

I'm double-checking now. Emory does run through parts of Cumberland county. I know Cookeville 30 imnutes away is on the Caney Fork watershed which won't be affected. Cookeville is a very nice little town, too. Myself, I found 20 acres of woods right outside Nashville, so I have both the benefits of privacy and the benefits of a large city. GO TITANS!

12. This part of Roane County is in the valley, not up on the plateau.

7. I don't think so. From what I read... they said it would move into Ala and Georgia...

9. No, Mid-TN gets it's water from the Cumberland watershed.
This is going to the Tennessee River.
