Xmas 2008
Edited on Wed Dec-24-08 06:27 PM by Botany
I went to dump off my recycling @ a local shopping area that has containers
today in a cold rain. When I was there a saw a little old lady picking aluminum
cans from the the bins. I had about 30 cans I was going to dump and gave them
to the old women. She told me she was there to try to help a friend out who was
having a hard time and the cans were not from her. I gave her a twenty I had in my
wallet and told her to make sure that her friend had a Merry Christmas she started
to cry and I had a hard time holding it together too.

Now I know bush is not responsible for everything but at that moment I found my
self hoping that there is a special spot in hell for him and his friends who looted
this country and helped to sink the world's economy.

Michelle Obama has asked if we can to help others this holiday season .... I have
very little but I will do what I can ....

Merry Christmas DU

Friend --

This holiday season, the grassroots movement you helped build can make a big difference for those in need.

I hope you will join me in supporting your favorite charity or contributing to causes that are especially meaningful to me and my family.

While many of us will spend the holidays counting our blessings and sharing dinner with loved ones, millions of people around the country won't be so fortunate. Donating to your local food bank will help provide a holiday meal to people in your community who can't afford one.

Talking with the families of deployed troops was one of the most rewarding experiences I had during the campaign. Giving to Operation USO Care Package is a great way to send members of our military stationed around the world a reminder that someone back home is thinking of them.

This is a time to celebrate our blessings, the new year, and a new era for our country. But it's also a time to come together on behalf of those who need our help.

Do what you can to help today by locating your local food bank and giving your support:

Or send a care package to an American in uniform:

Thank you for all that you do and have a very happy holiday season,

Michelle

1. Good for you
I hate the market one last time today, and when I was leaving the store, there was a man there, shabby clothes, unshaven, bad teeth, but a smile that wouldn't quit. He asked if I needed help getting my groceries to the car. I told him I was all right, and then, because I'm so lucky, I pressed a twenty into his hand.

He looked at it like it was warm. He just looked and then he reached for my hand and held it so tightly and kept saying, "God bless you, ma'am, god bless you."

My answer was - it had to be - "God bless you, sir."

2. You're bringing tears to my eyes, your stories plus the one re the hotel
in Dallas opening their doors to 400 homeless people. This is what the season is about as far as I'm concerned, and you're both angels. Merry Christmas to you..
