Merry Christmas, Bryce
My Beautiful Bryce~

In this Christmas card you will find a small amount of money.
Your family is just about to move into your first home, and our entire family is having hard times with money this year. Now that you are ten, you understand. That's why all the adults are doing the Yankee Swap for Christmas. We know that Christmas is about family and love and we're just going to be together, thankful that we have each other, and have lots of fun, too!

I've been thinking about what to buy you. There is no gift in the entire world that will make you happy forever. You have so much stuff, just about everything you want and need. You're really lucky. In fact, I've never seen any child who has so much. No, there is no gift that will make you happier or make you love me more. And there is no gift that I can give you to show you how much I love you. We have each other. We have beautiful love.

We are going to go on an adventure of love with this money...just you and me.
Just the two of us, like on our special dinner dates. We will shop for the Food Pantry. It will be fun. We can compare prices, and see how much food we can buy, and guess how many bags we can fill.

When we're done, we'll bring it over to the Food Pantry. I haven't been there in years, so we'll take a look around. There's never enough food there for everyone. You know that there are so many poor children in our community that can't go in the refrigerator like you do, and take out something to eat anytime they are hungry. There are many moms and dads who go hungry so their children can eat whatever is in the house. We can make things a little bit better for them....every bit of food makes a difference. We will put smiles on children's faces...We won't see them, but we'll know.

When your mother and JoJo were babies, I was poor, too. I had to get help to feed them. I was all alone. But I had my mother and father to help me out. I remember when you were little I showed you their wedding picture, and I asked you who you thought that lady was. You said, "I don't know...Sleeping Beauty?" I cried, and printed out that picture for you....I think a lot about my mother and father at Christmas, and I'm so thankful that I have my own beautiful children, and you....my first grandson...your baby brother and foster sister. Your mother is an angel. She is beautiful, just like my mother was.

When we deliver the food, I'll ask someone who works there to take a picture of us. You know that I'm saving special pictures of our moments together for when you are all grown up. I have pictures of you standing with me at our peace rallies. I have the pictures of us after we held the marker together to vote for Barack. Now we'll have another picture of our first Christmas together spreading our love to others. We will do this every Christmas forever. Next year, we'll deliver our presents to the pantry before Christmas. We can even find bargains during the year...Who knows how much the two of us can do next year!

We'll make a shopping date today. We'll do this during school vacation, and then go out to our special place for our dinner date. We'll have fun and make plans on how we'll do it again next year.

Oh! We'll even buy baby snacks! I know that they are expensive, and many parents can't afford to buy them. I'm so lucky that I don't get in trouble with your mother for eating all of Easton's snacks when I babysit. I think it will make her happy if we buy some for another baby...

I love you, Bryce. I'm so very proud of you. You have a beautiful heart, and I know that we're going to make a wonderful memory again. Just you and me. We can't change the world, but we can make a little bit of happiness for those around us. We'll share our love for each other with others...

Merry Christmas! I love you....

Love forever,
MiMi

1. What a beautiful couple you make! Isn't it a great feeling knowing
we are passing along our values to our grandkids? I've long figured out my most important work to make the world just a little better is to instill my kids and grandkids with a sense of what is right. Blessings to you!

5. Thank you, Kahuna
Thank you for the wonderful compliments...
I had great reservations about posting. Thank you for making my day!
Also, please don't be embarrassed...Bryce is my grandson! Everyone thinks he's a girl, even in person, dressed in his jock/sportswear.
He's got a great sense of humor about it...He actually knows he looks like a girl, but has good self-esteem with all his 'guy stuff' so it doesn't bother him...He finds it amusing. He's actually kind of a star hockey player, and has traveled around the country and to Canada...
It's nice to pull him away from all the sports, and he really loves doing my things, which have been 'our' things for a while..

peace & love to you...
