Can we do flowers for Elizabeth Edwards? |
|
I dont know how is the best way, but I'd like to see the DU get some flowers sent to Mrs. Edwards. Please step forward if you know of any good way to get this done. Some people say that this is a waste of money and flowers, but I say, forget it. We need to show our support for this wonderful family.

Maybe a DU fundraiser...otherwise I'll send off something to the American Cancer Society... https://www.cancer.org/docroot/DON/DON_1_Donate_Online_Now.aspMany good vibes to Elizabeth Edwards and particularly the Edwards friends and family!

|
in lieu of flowers. See what Edwards campaign suggests, but I do think flowers are a bit of waste. nice thought though.

27. Actually the way that cancer works |
|
The primary tumor is always the type of cancer you have. Basically she has breast cancer that has metastasized to the bones. It is still breast cancer though...no matter where else it may (or hopefully may not) show up.

Mods - can we do anything?
I vote for a donation from DU to a Breast Cancer Foundation (in her honor).
OR - can we look for a Relay for Life near their home? Anyone know any Democrats participating and we can donate to their team?

19. Flowers are for FUNERALS, IMO. Make a donation to the guy's campaign in her honor, if you want to |
|
make a statement. Or give a donation to the cancer society in her name.
But flowers? Like I said, they're for funerals. And she ain't dead yet.

thing I'd want.
But everyone is different, I suppose.

29. you know, a handwritten note is even more personal... |
|
...and touching than flowers. The woman can buy herself an ocean of flowers, but she can't buy expressions of admiration/affections from Americans. A pretty greeting card with flowers on it and a sincere note will be easier for staff to manage, too.

30. Make a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society |
|
5 years ago, after having recovered from colon cancer 4 years previous, my Ex mother in law was diagnosed with bone cancer. Being a poor woman, her treatment was limited, and approximately one year later, she passed on with my beloved ex taking care of her in her last weeks.
Please pray for Elizabeth Edwards, but please make a contribution to the American Cancer Society instead of flowers.
Be well

All cities have walks/runs coming up in the next month. How about organizing walk teams and wearing Edwards shirts to show support? I'm in Cincinnati and up for it.

I vote for a nice flower arrangement for her and then the rest of the money in a donation to either a cancer-related cause or to the Edwards campaign.
I like the flower idea because it gets to her, personally, but I don't really think we need to do a Boxer-esque flower campaign. So maybe one nice, large bouquet and then a donation?
Whatever is decided, I'm in.
