This particular slide show/book signing is this Thursday. My whole family is going!

I knew Scout (yes, she was named after Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird) when she was at Yale. We worked together for a little while and I suggested she take a photography job she was offered at the New Haven Register, which she did! I cannot wait to see her!

Her book, YES WE CAN, is absolutely amazing. You can see some of the photos and get more book signing dates/places here:

6. UPDATE:

this was a fantastic event! Scout is quite an entertaining storyteller! my husband & kids really enjoyed her. my son's girlfriend leaned over to me and said "I love her!" if you have the chance to see Scout, you won't be disappointed.

it was so good to see and talk to Scout again! as we spoke last night, we both tried to remember which event brought us together back in 2000. we figured it out: the election debacle of 2000! our friendship developed with the beginning of the horrific Bush presidency. we sat in front of our respective computers, constantly hitting the refresh button, just hoping the outcome would change! our renewed friendship came about with the beginning of a new and wonderful sense of hope for our country!

Scout will be on the train ride to DC starting next Friday to document the inauguration. she will also be covering the course of Barack's presidency. be sure to check out her website for the rest of this amazing journey:
