I smell a rat in Florida..... LINK
http://www.rawstory.com/showarticle.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sun-sentinel.com%2Fnews%2Flocal%2Fsouthflorida%2Fsfl-fprimary22mar22%2C0%2C4643105.story%3Fcoll%3Dsfla-home-headlines

Florida is strongly considering moving their presidential primary date up to Jan 29, becoming the first megastate before Calif, New York, and many others.

Campaigning there would be very expensive and time consuming for the candidates, and a presidential contender will have to have banked quite a sum of money to hit so many big states with expensive advertising markets in such a short period of time.

So which of the presidential candidates would most benefit from such a move by Florida?

On the Republican side, Would Jeb Bush surprise you?

2. I think Jebbie will sit this one out
because he realizes his brother has screwed the pooch completely and he and a great many GOP strategists want a Democratic president to blame for all the fallout from this misadministration for a four year term.

Jebbie will then run as the country's savior in 2012.

But you're right about Florida trying to increase its prominence by rescheduling the primary date and costing all the candidates too much money in meantime.

This primary stuff is getting just plain nuts. I sincerely hope the 2008 National Convention reforms the primary schedule, whether or not they take my own exquisitely sensible suggestion.

3. For what they have done to our electoral system, they should lose not gain
influence over it.

4. It has been reported that 41 and 43 have been counselling Jeb to run...
...while at the same time 43 was telling John McCain to support his policies and he would support his candidacy.

Once again McCain will take the blade in the back, and this country will be in danger of yet another Bush brother running for the Presidency.

(I cannot find the link to the story, but it had a picture of the 41 and 43 and Jeb walking and talking together. If you find the link, please post it here.)

5. I really don't think you're going to see Jeb run in 08. Not for VP either.
As much as I dislike Jeb, I admit he's a hell of a lot smarter than his older brother! I'm positive Jeb realizes the American people are literally "Bushed Out"! I believe he knows a Bush on an 08 ticket would guarantee a loss for the Pubs. You may see him in 2012, but not this time.

8. I thought the same thing
when I read this article earlier.

It's the stolen election thing.

Difficult to view Florida politics in any light with that 900lb gorilla there.

10. the real crooked part of the election will come after the primaries
so that would be a test run for the real thing.

They can continue this charade only as long as they can prevent paper ballots and hand counting.

9. Many reasons for Jeb to jump in ...
... there are no strong candidates to bring in the rightwing conservative fundamentalists to the Republican ticket.
... Jeb has name recognition, and would not have to travel the state to get out his message.

... Hillary would have the most money on the Democratic slate, and Jeb would run against the Clinton name.

... Whoever wins Florida would dwarf the electoral votes won in other states prior to that primary, and give him a natural springboard into the Super Tuesday primaries.

... Corporate money would flow to Jeb.

I for one hope this scenario never sees the light of day, but the Bush family is like a vampire colony --you just can't seem to kill them off no matter how bad things get.
