Is this a war or an occupation?
I don't know about anyone else, but it's starting to grate on my nerves when I see our involvement termed "the Iraq war". Call it "the Iraq occupation", and suddenly the whole mess seems to become a lot clearer.

4. "Hey you got your occupation in my war"
"Well you got your war in my occupation!"
(sound of chewing)
(sound of gagging and spitting)
"This tastes awful."

2. Definatly an occupation
We invaded a soverign country and have attempted to influence their government. We had no reason to do so. I don't consider this a war.

6. Whatever you call it, it is wrong and immoral
Iraq posed no threat to the USA and yet we invaded, destroyed, and occupied their country. Most decent Americans know this to be the truth....Since we are not engaged against any uniformed soldiers, only civilians it is indeed very hard to claim it is a war. It is most definitely an occupation by every definition available..

12. I usually call it the Invasion of Iraq, but I guess our little invasion has grown up into an
occupation.

13. The war has been over for a long time
It became an occupation in the second week we were there. The Iraqi military had been dismantled, and from there on it was an occupation.
