What cost Americans more, Interest on our Debt or Defense Spending?

What cost Americans more, Interest on our Debt or Defense Spending?
I suspect they are very close and either one far outshines any social spending such as medicare or head start or education or highways or safe water or safe food or sewer systems or air and water ports or ????almost everything. And you know what it is ready to skyrocket. Interest rates are going to rise and interest on nine trillion dollars is quite a chunk...Is there no sanity left at all?
