Everyone calm down, please!
This crash in the Hudson was a singular event. The result of countless variables the outcome was indeed miraculous, as it was amazing and beat the odds.

Some will (justifiably) laud the skill of the pilot. They are right, the man is greatly skilled and the lives of these people were saved in large part due to this mans skill, level-headedness and experience.

That said, there were numerous other factors that made this crash survivable and singular, some will see the hand of the divine in it. Mocking them for such beliefs is both unnecessary and uncalled for.

This was a marvelous and impressive event that testifies to the best of the human spirit and grants us a little good news in the midst of so much ruin. Leave it to us to turn it into a series of flame wars.

5. OOOH...
I had to go into a HotTopic to get a gift card for my younger sister at Christmas. It was funny, back in the day it was goth/metal central... now it's preppy. I think I was the scariest guy there, and I'm a History Grad Student who works in a Library!

:scared:

8. It just proves that European airplanes are better than crappy American made ones.
:sarcasm:

And that New Yorkers weren't hesitant to rush to the aid of those who were in distress today (no sarcasm in that)

Kudos to the good people of New York as well as the pilot.
