J. Steven Griles, the “former No. 2 official in the Interior Department: PLEADS GUILTY
I did a comic blog on Steven and his Lover who worked in the EPA and the two of them buying a Beach House with a Lobbyist for Conoco. Monday Feb. 26, if interested in looking thru my archives...

snip:

J. Steven Griles, the “former No. 2 official in the Interior Department,” today “will admit lying to the Senate about his relationship with convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who succeeded in gaining the official’s intervention at the agency for his Indian tribal clients.” “He is the 10th person — and the second high-level Bush administration official — to face criminal charges in the continuing Justice Department investigation into Abramoff’s lobbying activities.”

MINIMUM sentence possible, and he can spend half of that under house arrest. And he doesn't need to give up any information for this privilege.
DOJ at work. This is why the prosecutors were fired, so they can slap tiny little penalties onto HUGE crimes.

5. a major criminal just got off! a plea bargain which ONLY benefits the criminal!
This is not good. His guilt was aboslutely confirmed. 5 counts of perjury to the senate. his plea gave him really no consequences.

house arrest? gave no further info? less than the minimum sentence given to him by prosecutor. shall we send him roses too?
