I just turned Randi Rhodes off and she will stay off |
|
Talking over this very intelligent caller who has imho a valid point regarding the Melissa Etheredge/Rick Warren meeting. He's saying he won't work for a Warren organization against AIDS, and she's telling him he's gotta show up. She literally will hardly let him get a word in edgewise.:banghead:

1. I think Randi just wants to get into Melissa Ethridge's pants. |

I know I do.
In any case, I say we let Randi go down this little garden path of hers with Rick Warren.
We all know where it will lead.
Warren will eventually piss her off, and incur the full force and fury of Randi's Wrath.

4. It's shocking to find someone working in radio who likes to hear themselves speak all day. |
|
Who would imagine such a thing?

7. Randi is very loyal to her friends and will badmouth her enemies. |
|
even when her friends make mistakes... like Melissa
and her enemies are fellow progressives... like Al Franken.
I take her for who she is and, on the whole, I like listening to her.
In point of fact, she routinely talks over her callers AND, sometimes, doesn't get what they are saying, even if it's plain to almost everyone else listening.

9. She loves the sound of her own voice... |
|
And she's a pit bull when she decides on a side to an issue. Hmmm... a lot like Bush.
I've had it with her too. I used to at least try to listen. I can't anymore. Life is too short.
I am, however, enjoying the hell out of Mike Malloy... his blood pressure rises so mine doesn't have to:)

Is it the swearing??? DWR (Driving With Randi) is especially hazardous for me.

12. I love Malloy's swearing! |
|
"That God damn sonofabitch!" He says that nearly every time he mentions Bush's name, and I just love it!
Then there's the swearing I do at Randi... and my eyes are drawn to the radio in disbelief! Yup... hazardous while driving!

18. Mike is MUCH better with callers than Randi |
|
He actually has a back-and-forth conversation with them (unless they are "flying monkeys"), and even sometimes holds them over commercial breaks, which most hosts seldomly do. Plus, he frequently reads listener's emails on the air, which is another rarity.

13. Randi is emotional about attacks on her friend Melissa. |
|
I turn Randi off from time to time too. She can go overboard. But I love her and I think her positive contributions to the left far outweigh her occasional outbursts.

14. That is her schtick, I have never liked her very much and that is one of the reason's why. |
|
She talks over her guests too, even the one's she agrees with (unless she's fishing for a date).
I've also never heard her admit that she is wrong even when she is proved to be so numerous times. Like so many (most) performers, she is 95% ego and 5% substance.

16. Randi I'm sure would love to be in Maddow's place - But her mouth (and ego) fucked her up! |
|
Edited on Fri Jan-16-09 05:53 PM by LaPera
But the queen, Randi, instead is on Nova M, bitching & screaming her usual, only her opinion is valid bullshit...While Maddow cleverly, articulately & brilliantly is a top ratings grabber on both national radio (AAR) & television (MSNBC) - Randi I'm sure would love to be in Maddow's place but then what radio personality wouldn't love to be doing both?
I enjoy AAR, I love Hartmann, Maddow, RFK Jr. and others. It's great to have a national progressive network - Even as the republicans tried and still try to put (progressive radio) AAR out of business, and have from day one with AAR...But AAR is still kicking, and it's very much needed in our country full of republican radio assholes, (everyone knows the assholes names).
Just as I love Olbermann & Maddow on MSNBC and Shuster isn't bad either, he's fair and interesting on 1600 Penn. Ave show. Maddow is certainly excellent at both radio & TV and I love the way Olbermman always gives her a little plug on his show and helps her out...and it's where she got her start on MSNBC Olbermann's Countdown.

Randi was rude. But I thought she had a good point. Actually I could see the guy's point too. But Randi's attitude was what came through rather than the issue itself. Too bad.
