I can't forget or forgive... |

Edited on Fri Jan-16-09 10:41 PM by cynatnite
These are the same people who called us traitors and other names over our dissension concerning things like the war, cronyism, using ideology to govern and so on. They pissed on the constitution, shut the Dems out of governing and basically gave a big fat 'fuck you' to the rest of the country and the world. In the past, we tried being better than them and it got us no where. Instead, we got kicked in the gut more times than I care to count.
They've done everything they can to strip women of their rights and continue to deny gays equal rights.
Overall, these people have done everything they could to marginalize anyone who was not like them or was unwilling to play their hateful little games.
This is why it feels more like Obama is sucking up to them. I tell myself he's not doing that, but then I can't forget the last eight years and how badly this country has been dragged down by them.
I'm trying, but it'll take a hell of a long time before I can let this go.

It is even debatable whether I'll forgive. This fucker and his cabal did so much damage. I take responsibility for my anger, but what it did to my daughter. She got to experience my anger at the Bush atrocities firsthand. In spite of everything, my daughter turned out to be an exceptional human being. It actually made both her and my nephew very mindful of justice and the difference between right and wrong. They will never be sucked into some fucking religious cult, because they were taught to THINK. They aren't going to be fooled like my generation was. Right now, I want Bush to suffer incomprehensible agony for what he did. I want all those murdered in cold blood by his administration to haunt all of them to the end of their days.

2. If you want Hillary prosecuted for war crimes |
|
she said just as many crazy-ass things on the lead-up to the war as Bush did.
That's the problem. You start prosecuting one, where does it end.

8. As long as people know the consequences |
|
When you line up all the crimes, and then line up all the people who could be considered conspirators because of their testimony to Congress or other actions, and you've got most of the leaders in the world. That's the only reason I can think of that they're getting away with it.

4. This wasn't just about words... |
|
It's more than that and I'm not talking about prosecuting anyone, either. I don't expect that to happen.

7. I'm trying not to view the individuals.. |
|
but to look at our government as a whole. The Bush regime provided the impetus for me to connect the dots to how we got here. Their MO is not an anomaly, it's a pattern. What is unique is how brutally in your face they are, and more importantly how in sync our media is with our government that they report what is so obviously not true. I'm sure these people will still be entrenched in our government, with all the other unknown names who wield more power than any Senator or Government official could dream of.
