Aminopterin causes severe birth defects in humans....
there may be more to this story on Chinese wheat, which is exported to several countries, than just the poor sick dogs and cats. I don't know if the US gets wheat for human consumption from them but apparently Australia and New Zealand and Japan buy it.

3. Some people have reported success with a gluten-free, casein-free diet
one wonders if aminopterin might sometimes occur naturally in trace amounts in gluten, sort of like aflatoxin in peanuts.

One in six? Are you SERIES???!1111!! At that rate, we'll be in the majority someday! Be afraid, neurotypicals! Be very afraid... :-)

2. Here's my conspiracy theory. We know China is big on
population control - limiting size of families, etc. We know some of our barons and their operatives are concerned about population control - they don't want wars over water, food, and heat (especially if they own all the water, food, and heat) and they don't want to pave half the nation with prisons and use trojan teams to find the enemies within.

So did Kissinger and the Chinese and Russians come to some agreement when Hammer and Nixon and others established unprecedented trade relations with our arch enemies?

Were those trade agreements all warm fuzzies to make us feel hope for peace - or were there other schemes agreed to?

Did they agree to raise the economic stature of the Chinese while lowering the stature of Americans so that trade would even out, but mostly that American workers would be brought down and under control by the destruction of unions and laws that protect them?

Did the agreement include an understanding that the U.S. would oversee the world army and police and furnish soldiers in the beginning?

Did the U.S. 'try things out' in Central and South America and the Caribbean by owning their leaders for decades, placing military in charge in some countries, keep the citizens imprisoned by the World Bankd and IMP debt of the country, exploit the earth resources for the corporations?

Laugh, but notice how things 'fit'.

4. I think someone on another thread figured out what happened.
Seed grain is often treated with chemicals to prevent mold or protect them from rodents, etc. It's OK if the chemicals are poisonous because the poison doesn't carry over to the new crop. In this country, treated seed is generally dyed a bright warning color. Take a look at treated seed for sweet corn. In this case, it sounds like someone got hold of treated seed and sold it as food grade wheat.
