NYT's: Dept of Interior Undersecretary pleads guilty in Abramoff ...
relationship:

WASHINGTON, March 23 — J. Steven Griles, the second-highest official at the Interior Department during President Bush’s first term, pleaded guilty today to lying to a Senate committee about his ties to Jack Abramoff, the disgraced lobbyist who obtained help from the Interior Department for his Indian tribal clients.

<snip>

Mr. Griles, 59, the Deputy Secretary of the Interior under Gale N. Norton from 2001 to 2004, was a high-profile lobbyist for oil and gas companies before joining the Bush administration. Once in office, he came under scrutiny for continuing contacts with his former industry clients, and then for his relationship with Mr. Abramoff. After leaving the Interior Department, he resumed his former career as a lobbyist.

11. Who can? I don't think there's an honest person in the bunch...
If it weren't for permanent govt employees, those despised "Bureaucrats" we hear so much about...bush would have crowned himself Emperor and changed his name to Caligula.

19. Imho, Jennifer Farley and Lawrence B. Lindsey should be put under oath
and prosecuted along with a lot of other folks including Gale Norton et al.

Fwiw, Henry Waxman's House Oversight Committee had Jennifer Farley already down as a White House Jack Abramoff contact-along with Karl Rove, Susan Bonzon Ralston, Barry Jackson, Ken Mehlman, and Ruben Barrales.

In the past couple of days we've learned about the "special" e-mail servers used by Susan Bonzon Ralston and others-maybe the RNC's Ken Mehlman knows a bit about that too.
