Anybody remember how Clinton's last days in office were covered vs. Bush's?` |
|
I still am sickened at the recollection of reporters who stood outside the White House in the last few days of Clinton's term at all hours of the day and night. Their biggest "stories" were that Clinton was using his pardoning power and then there was that thing where they claimed they stole China and removed keys from computers. I especially remember one news reader pointing to a room with a light on in the White House saying that Clinton was probably sitting in there as the newsreader spoke pardoning criminals. Then, when the actual pardons were done, they were scrutinized for days and the Rich's were held up as proof of Clinton's wrongdoing with pardons.
Contrast that with Bush who left for Camp David with hardly a peep from the media. No speculation about pardons. No camping outside of the White House for a week. No "stories."
They will hound Obama just like they did Clinton.
Fuck the crooked media.

3. Lest we forget.......... |
|
This is when the Bushies started the story about how the Clinton people trashed the White House offices on their way out. The media certainly went on and on about that, even after the Clinton folks denied all of it, and there was no proof that any damage had been done.
Lest we forget that it was Rep. Bob Barr - the recalcitrant slug who recently had the gall to run for President - who provoked an investigation that cost us taxpayers about $200,000 before concluding that none of it had taken place.
Did we ever get an apology from those fuckers? Did Barr ever apologize for wasting the country's money?

5. Fox News is focusing on Bush's lasts days in the White House |
|
They are so sad over there. They were showing his last trip on Marine One and mentioned how the twins were both there. They showed the crowd greeting the Bush's on the south lawn and how they were privileged to be there. One reporter mentioned how that scene looked fantastic. :eyes: They (fox reporters) were joking that the twins wanted to get back to the White house to get their stuff because the Obama's are moving in. :eyes:

6. The media has been very conscious of the historic nature of Obama becoming president |
|
and much of the news is concerned with that not with a president who most people are relieved to be leaving the WH. I'm glad they are covering Obama and pretty much ignoring Bush. If he makes some last minute controvercial pardons they will cover it. Of course they spent a lot of time on Clinton in his last days because there wasn't much excitement in the country in 2001 when Bush was appointed by the SC and coming in. Unlike the great excitement today for Obama.

7. I wonder if the media.. |

will draw any comparison between the hail of eggs Bush went through along the parade route, with whatever takes place on Tuesday.

9. That went right down the memory hole |

The media is NEVER going to bring up that the majority of people along the parade route for Bush's installation were there to protest.

8. They treated Clinton like a fleeing felon |
|
And even though all the polls showed that his popularity on leaving office was the highest ever recorded n the era of modern polling, they droned on and on about how the country was suffering from "Clinton fatigue".
