1. Not all guys in cowboy hats are bad... |
|
Why would you think Garth is a prick? Are you sure you don't have him confused with another "hat"?

Love the guy (as my avatar shows) but there's no question he treated Cynthia like shit. :(

13. Yes--they all seem to marry young and then "upgrade" when they become big stars. |

9. Yeah, he's a shit of a husband |

but stars who buy those overpriced heaps of masonry often do so as much for security reasons as for sheer ostentation.
I don't particularly like his genre of music, but I've never seen him support stupid right wing politics.
In fact, I'd hazard a guess that anybody who's had songs banned from C&W stations is probably on our side.
I'd just advise against marrying the man.

Once people, especially men become wealthy and influencial, they throw their first wives in the trashcan. :(

politics--many never supported REPUGS... Unfortunately those who have and do, are usually the most vocal, so one must forgive progressives for assuming. I actually don't know what Garth's poltics are, but I now assume he'd one of the good guys.

Tim McGraw is another staunch Democrat; and Toby Keith, after his repulsive behavior a few years ago, has "come home" to his roots. Wille Nelson never left. Bob Dylan has always carried the torch, too. And Garth Brooks is looking more like the John Lennon of pop C&W.
This movement is big and getting bigger. The Martina McBrides and Lee Greenwoods will soon be in the minority. Mainstream C&W will soon re-connect with what is now called Americana (Melloncamp, Springsteen, Old 97s, etc.), include a lot of black folks' lost music, stuff that hasn't been included in Hip-Hop or Blues. American music -- ALL music -- will be better for it.
The future begins now ... or, more precisely, on Tuesday at noon.

|
His segment was totally rockin' and his respect shown to President Obama was very cool. I was always impressed with Garth - he always seemed to be more progressive than the rest of the country twanger set.
