They didn't endorse anyone, did they? They're far too stupid and self-involved to have any kind of political awareness, it seems to me.
The word "fatuous" comes to mind.
So does "insipid."
But, if they're in DC now, trying to get some free publicity, the word "opportunist" would certainly apply.
