I have to admit it makes me a tad bit nervous
Only a few hours left and talk of prosecuting war crimes on the Bush administration and all these people in DC tonight and Gates in a hidden and undisclosed location in the case of the worst case scenario...leaves me with an uneasy feeling in these last few hours.
My clear head tells me it's almost over and they are almost gone, but still I can't quite shake the unease.
These next few hours are going to drag by.
See you all on the other side!

3. I share your anxiety.........
Ever since the election, I've dreaded this weekend, today, tomorrow. I don't trust any Republican still in office, and I keep imagining all sorts of things that might be perpetrated by outsiders.

It just needs to take place, and maybe we'll both feel better.

Hang in there, friend.......

5. Remember. "HOPE", NOT "Fear".
Edited on Mon Jan-19-09 11:51 PM by liberalmuse
I went through panic last night. I choose, "HOPE". Don't worry. Everything is going to go smoothly, and nothing, NOTHING can stop President Obama from being sworn in.

6. Don't sweat it too much.
I've been to a few Obama events - he is very, very well protected - the Secret Service will be there, along with thousands of cops, with enough weapons to arm Bolivia.

Don't sweat the Gates thing too much - that's standard procedure. Any time there's an event, be it an inauguration, or a State of the Union address or somewhere else where the President, Vice President, President & Vice President Elect, and members of the cabinet and Congress are present, they make sure one of them is not there, just in case the worst happens.

7. I have a dread about this moment in history
We may not hear about it for years (see Iran-Contra), but I feel something is happening Right NOW.

8. Take comfort from this Mark Twain observation . . .
"I am an old man," he wrote, "and have known many troubles, most of which never happened."
