The continual stream of people walking past my door is unreal
I live in Foggy Bottom, by the Kennedy Center, and the lines of people going by are amazing.

1. I'm in Alexandria, and
it's so dead quiet over here, you'd think there was a foot of snow on the ground. No sounds, no people anywhere.

Everyone went across the river, I believe.

How lovely.............

4. It's madness
The Metro stop not far from here had its parking lot reserved for VIPS, so the cabbies were all over the place yesterday and today were on the run. It's been astonishing.

I just got a view of the Mall from the Capitol. It's a beautiful day here, but cold -26 degrees. There's a possibility of a light snowfall later this morning, but I doubt it will happen.

A good day for us to get a new President, eh?

7. D.C. area native here..
I can't fathom 2 million plus on The Mall. I remember the Bicentennial, when there were about 1 million there if I recall. It was an epic trip home. We lived about 10 miles outside the city at that time and I think we got home about 2:00 A.M.
