I live in a red county, so I wanted to compare. Anything special going on where you live as far as the inauguration is concerned? Any individual displays of exuberance? Or...other?

There are gonna be many inaugural balls in Chicago. Northside, Southside, Westside, all parts of the city are having celebrations.

2. Some stuff at a small town
near here. The town got wiped out by a tornado last year and rebuilt afterwards so they are celebrating the new community center as well as the inaguration. Dual celebrations for the small town of Fruitland, IA. Happy time for them. I think I am going to a well known LOCALLY OWNED coffee shop though. I need to be around like minded people.

7. I HAVE A BIG ONE TO REPORT
When Obama came to Orlando, I went down to the arena just to walk around to buy Obama shirts. I never really got close enough to see him. Just hear clips. My purpose was those shirts, because I wanted to hand them out to people who I knew wouldn't buy them for themselves. Some because they weren't politically aligned, others because they didn't have the time.

Anyway, someone just called and told me her son, who has been siding with the Republican side since 1998, walked out of the house wearing the Obama shirt I gave them a few months back! He's a tennis coach so it's going to be widely displayed!

6. The Democratic Committee is hosting an Inaugural Party at the Convention Center later tonight...
It was cost prohibitive for us to attend, but there were several MLK/Inauguration services both yesterday and today at various churches.

Other than that, I'm heading down to my brother in laws house in about hour to watch it live with him.
