3. msnbc announced that even though obama had not been sworn in

it was after 12 o'clock and he was now officially the president of the united states.

AND I LOST IT!

I CRIED--oh my god--tears of relief, relief, such fucking relief!!!

waiting for that moment...waiting for SO LONG, for 8 years, for forever

feeling as if it would never come

and i cried...THANK GOD THE WALKING NIGHTMARE IS OUT...OF...POWER!

And then I laughed, because my wife writes speeches for a ranking politician at an EU body, and she'd come up with a line just like that in five seconds flat. She's a consummate genius at that, and I can tell that genius in others when I hear it. It was a perfect line, just what you'd expect from a pro.

Yeah, I'm cynical. And yeah, it *was* a great speech, for all a speech is worth.
