Manteca (CA) Considers Charging for Accidents
Manteca Considers Charging for Accidents

MANTECA, CA - It's painful enough being in a traffic accident or being responsible for a fire at your home. Imagine having to pay for the fire department's efforts to respond to those incidents.

That's what the Manteca Fire Department chief said he's discussing with the city manager

"It's the least preferred strategy, but I would have been irresponsible not to look at anything that could generate revenue," said Chief Chris Haas.

The city of Manteca is expecting an $11 million budget deficit. The chief said about $70,000 could be generated by charging people for the accidents, fires, and hazardous materials incidents they cause.

1. Fuck that. And if I lived there and were in an
accident and they sent a fucking bill to me, I'd send it right back to them with specific instructions as to how to shove it up their ass.

6. True, true.
But how much time have you spent in Stockton, really? I've spent some time in B-field and I'd say it runs second, but a close second.

8. I couldn't tell you. We used to take our boys there often.
They had huge red ants, too. :)
