A black and white issue?
Don't know if anyone else is noticing a trend in the interviews the last few days, but it looks like the press has--for good or bad--embraced the r-a-c-e issue of this election. I'm seeing 90% of the interviews being with black people. With the press being on message for 8 years now, it has me wondering if the RW Media is setting up a future shit storm or if they are really doing it out of respect for the historic crossing of the race barrier in politics. My paranoia is still at work even though Chimp is in Texas. Anyone else worried that this is not by accident and that there is an ulterior method to the media?

Certainly, the importance of the election of the country's first African American President cannot be overstated. Add to that that it's happening on MLK Day weekend and it becomes bigger than life. The hope that Obama represents to black people is historic, but with the world in crisis, the new POTUS represents hope to literally billions of people on the planet from countries everywhere. American voters like those on DU and most of the rest of the people the world have gone from feeling helpless to believing again. But, relatively speaking, there is not nearly as much emphasis being given to the other important elements to this election.

The USA used to be the big brother of the world. We were a country that led by example, that protected human rights, strove for peace and symbolized opportunity. These factors, the collapsing economy, the War(s) and the America's status in the world are conspicuously under the radar on this important day. We voted for this man not because of the color of his skin, but for his vision and ability to lead us in addressing these issues.

Maybe the fact that a poor black man has been elected as President of the most powerful nation on Earth simply empowers people. Is it possible that the press somehow got sophisticated enough to realize that what happened today symbolizes that anything is possible?

1. THAT'S Why I ONLY watch CSPAN. MSM does race spin ..
unnecessary.
CNN, MSNBC and the rest are still doing the race-baiting.
I JUST DON'T WATCH anymore.
Turned on Campbell Brown for 2-minutes, and couldn't stomach it.

3. I heard someone talking about this today.
The guy was saying he was pissed that they were mostly asking black people what they thought of the events today. He was saying it wasn't fair to other Obama voters. So you maybe right about this creating some issues. Then I heard another girl at my school saying she regretted voting for Obama because of the end part of Lowery's prayer and the constant talk about race. I personally thought her explanation was ridiculous.

10. The MSM is empowered only by GE, Halliburton and the BFEE.
I have a hard time believing all is suddenly good in the Liburl Media.
