Poppy Bush looked pretty fragile yesterday.
What's the deal on him?

He could barely walk - if anything he was shuffling.

1. Well, at least he had his adopted son Bill Clinton nearby.

This is one relationship that really disgusts me.

16. It was a day of hats...
I suspect Aretha's would have kept him warmer. Aretha of course wouldn't have been caught dead in his. Maybe he was going hunting afterwards with Cheney. Or maybe hunting Cheney.

9. Carter is 84 and strode in strongly
I thought Daddy Bush looked really bad. I didn't notice that at all last week when the photos of all the Presidents were taken at the WH.

11. Remember, last week's photo op had them all standing still.
I'm trying to remember the last time I saw him walking and nothing comes to mind. He seems to have aged A LOT in the last year. Mama however looked like her usual nasty self!

19. And he has two...
Jeb may be gone but not forgotten. Marvin and Neil are not politically inclined. So maybe that explains why he adopted Bill. Gotta keep the dynasty going somehow.

17. I was actually shocked by his appearance
Obviously, I know he is 85 or so. So I didn't expect to see him run out and give jumping high fives to everyone. It just seems like he slipped a LOT over the past couple of months.

I thought it was his viper of a spouse that was having the medical issues.

26. Not only that but he knows he's destroyed his family name.
THAT is a pretty difficult thing to do- unless your son is George Bush of course.

22. The royal purple was a nice (telling) touch huh?
Talk about the blue blood Brahman class...but not his son of course :sarcasm:

Poppa Bush is the central connecting element of the nuclear age. From founding the CIA (from the old OSS) to China to the UN to being in Dallas on THAT day oh and meeting with the Saudis in DC on 9/11 (conspiracy theorists love the last two) he is like "the Smoking Man" on the X-Files. He knows where all the bodies are buried but didn't actually touch a shovel.

23. Big difference from the 2004 Inauguration.
Looks like he's aged 20 years in the past 4. He can thank his neer-do-well son as the source of his stress. We've all aged at an accelerated rate, thanks to Dimson.

25. Yesterday morning I turned on the television to watch the inauguration
and BAM all that was onscreen was Daddy Bush and Bags Barbara, desecrating a hallway somewhere. I had to turn it off, then I went to breakfast. LAST sort of thing I either expected or wanted to see :/
