Well, Thank God CNN is now "Keeping them honest" |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-21-09 10:32 AM by oxymoron
I just saw the promo on CNN showing President Obama with the voice-over "CNN - We're keeping them honest". Where the fuck were these guys for the last 8 years? Do they only keep the Dems honest? It's this kind of double standard/undermining that we need to expose! Break up the media conglomerates now.
Okay, I feel better now...

And put me down as one that is all for breaking these corporations up with new media anti trust laws and re-instituting the Fairness Doctrine.

6. You can add me to that list. |

We need to disband the hold that large corporations have on our media today. Programming has suffered greatly due to it, and news is no longer reported without a slant.
There must be a better way of getting to the truth other than the internet.

4. The only thing that might save Obama (at least in the beginning) will be the economy. |
|
The corporate media does not want the economy to die. They will support Obama's early efforts until it is time for reelection. That is when they will turn on him. Happened to FDR, it will happen to Obama.

5. Who is going to keep CNN honest? |
|
Don't think that has been possible for the last eight years.

So, like, if the Obama administration starts wiretapping citizens without warrants, what will CNN do? Explode is my guess. Because how could warrantless wiretaps be dishonest? Or what if the Obama administration sanctions and carries out torture of citizens and suspects? Is there a CNN strategy for making that honest, besides looking the other way? How about if Obama starts filling cabinet positions and appointed slots in every department with unqualified cranks, simply because they have a boatload of money to contribute to his campaign? Could CNN possibly descry something less than honest in that?
It will amuse me to see what CNN suddenly ranks as dishonest, considering what they didn't bat an eye at for eight years.

10. Perception control is still our biggest problem.. |
|
not only on the tv screen, but on the net as well. I don't know how many articles I have read that take a single sentence and turn it on it's head to make a story out of nothing. Then it is repeated ad nauseam until it becomes a false reality.
