Normally, when an administration wants to bury bad news — such as a government report it doesn’t like — the story gets released Friday afternoon. That ensures minimal media coverage. For news it really doesn’t like, the Friday of a three-day weekend is ideal.

So what subject matter is so abhorrent it would motivate the Bush administration to release multiple reports simultaneously the Friday before the four-day weekend that culminates in their loss of power, when they can be certain the media will be focused on other matters?

Answer: The impact of human-caused global warming on Americans — arguably the single most taboo subject in the entire Bush administration. For 8 years they have avoided their statutory obligation to detail the impacts of climate change on this country. And they have systematically muzzled government climate scientists from discussing those impacts with the public or the media (see “Climate Science Muzzling Meets the House“).

It was easier to find people in the Bush administration to talk about torture or warrantless wiretaps, than it was to get someone to speak on (or off) the record or on the likely impact of Bush’s policy of unrestricted greenhouse gas emissions on Americans.

6. Overall, it is global warming, and that is the planetary disease, however the various regions

will suffer different symptoms depending on their location and what the dynamics of which their current climate is based on.

Europe by it current latitude should be experiencing colder temperatures than it does, however it is warmed by the flow of warm water and air coming up from the gulf. So if global warming stops or drastically alters those warm flows from the gulf, (which to me seems highly likely), they may go in to an ice age of sorts, while the poles melt.

But in spite of regional differences in experiencing varied climate extremes, the primary culprit is the warming of planet as a whole.

7. The issue is the AVERAGE temperature will rise

The rise in the average affects the weather to act extremely in given years, be calm the next year, etc.

Reading the Farmers Almanac, they pooh-pooh the very idea of global warming and say we are now headed into a cooling trend. They have about an 80% accuracy in their predictions and have been around a long time. Still, they doesn't account for the fact that the ice cores reveal that our current melt rate is faster than in the last 40,000 years.

The world knew about global warming starting in the 70s, maybe even sooner. Bush's base (which would include his father) fucked America and the world while shrubbie was busy tooting up and partying and long before shrubbie stepped into the White House by keeping the results of the studies quiet as long as they could.

at every turn, be it insane fiscal policies, grossly unfair tax policies, undue detrimental influence on monetary policy, by ignoring global warming and science, by waging permanent pre-emptive wars of aggression by choice featuring mucho torture, by ignoring the looming crisis in the housing market, the banking industry, the securities markets, and the capital markets, and by gutting most of the Bill of Rights, except for the sacrosanct 2nd Amendment, and much of the rest of the Constitution and the rule of law as lagniappe.
