Protesters Chant 'Sha na na na, Na na na na, Hey, Hey, Goodbye' to Bush Chopper

Just before 1 p.m. ET, MSNBC audio caught inaugural attendees chanting "Hey, Hey, Goodbye" to Executive One, the USMC chopper carrying former President and First Lady Bush.

1. I love how the commentators just ignored it.

The chant was loud and clear for all to hear ... and they acted like it wasn't even happening. :eyes:

On edit: Was that Lester Holt or Keith O? Sometimes I have trouble telling their voices apart.

4. They were singing long before that
I clearly heard it on NBC, despite the commentators' attempts to ignore/talk over it. I don't know what level of coverage would have been appropriate, but it was definitely part of the goings-on at the ceremony. For all the immediacy of television, you'd think they would be able to handle unscripted bits better, but maybe they don't do unscripted anymore. It all has to be part of the rigid kabuki or it doesn't get covered or mentioned.
