Anyone else having a hard time believing it's all over? |
|
Well okay, I know it's really not. We still have tons of work to do. But just reading all these headlines; Obama to close Gitmo, Obama says U.S. will not torture, Obama moves to save wolves...well, I haven't cried in awhile but it all brings tears to my eyes.
I realize now how much I've gotten used to hearing abhorring news over the last eight years. To see positive changes being made, well, I just forgot what that feels like. To feel good about where your country is going again. Wow. It's amazing and wonderful. What a refreshing change. I feel like I just got rid of a huge ball and chain I've been dragging around for years.
Keep giving 'em hell Mr. President Obama! We're with you all the way!   :toast: :toast: :toast:
 :yourock:

5. I was going to say the same thing |

month and a half for me. When I can go out and get a job the same day I quit one like I used to, then it will be over.

As long as mass-murdering, war criminals are allowed to remain free, drawing pensions and salaries, it will never be over.

6. Yes, I know what you're saying.....it's like leaving an abusive spouse or family |
|
you're so happy that "it's over", but it's difficult emotionally to get used to the idea that the darkness is gone and the sun is a-shining upon your face again.
Think about it. If a person lives to be 80 y/o, which many do these days, but probably not MOST.....the shrub's 8 years in office, the terra terra, fear and be afraid leadership was fully 10% of your lifetime! 10%! If you live less than 80 years, that neocon bullsh*t took up MORE than 10% of your lifetime!
I'm all for the "fast track" to healing, but I'm still mad as h*ll for what we (and everybody AROUND THE WORLD) went through for the last 8 years!

7. I have to confess, I was skeptical that bush |

would actually give up power right up till the moment President Obama finished the oath of office. And even then a lump formed in my throat when CJ Roberts bungled up the oath. It was only when that chopper left DC that I finally felt at ease that we were rid of the good for shit stumblebum.
