Did I have a weird dream about Obama last night...
We were all on a train sitting in one of those dining-car table arrangements, but I had sent him an e-mail a few days before b/c his e-mail to me had a simple error, which I gently, very gently, corrected. I think it had to do with how my cousin was related to me - you know how dreams go. Anyway, he was sitting with us, and he turned to me and said, "You were tough on me with that e-mail, you know." I started sputtering that , and he DIDN'T laugh or anything, he had that, as Jon Stewart said, "shutthefuckup look" and I woke up sweating and scared to death and feeling like such a loser.

Interesting combination of : the train trip; watching Stewart's rerun right before I went to sleep; e-mail issues with a friend; fear of failure.

1. I rewatched The Lord of the Rings Trilogy last week
My dreams have been extremely weird. One had an Ent as a traffic cop.

3. You've given me a terrific idea!
I can't think of a better way to pass the time in long, dreary January than to watch the Lord of the Rings Trilogy again. Thanks!

2. Intern, let yourself rejoice at these historical times.
It's hard to believe, but we need to do all we can now, even if we will make mistakes.

On that note, I will tell you that I haven't slept a solid hour since the inauguration.

5. I dreamed of President Obama all night last night.
And the dreams were pretty vivid. I was his aide at one point, and were were in a meeting and he was very intense and serious and not in the best of moods, and I was explaining to the person we were meeting with that he had a lot on his mind. Then in my last dream, he went 'missing'. I'm like, how in the hell did the SS lose our President??? I was so pissed!

7. Oh, My, God.
I am so glad others confessed first.

I haven't slept more than a continuous hour this whole week.

We are NOT going to let this President go missing!

Do all you can do, and you will be the best servant possible.

I haven't even got to the part of trying to help him out. I just keep thinking about his remarkable wife and how to keep those kids safe and normal. You are way ahead of me! (:

6. I thought it was just me!
I had a dream our President was at my old neighbors house visiting and I was there. It was really strange and weird but he was there along with a lot of folks that are no longer here with me. Everything was centered around the house and neighborhood I grew up in.

8. "our" President....
I made a point of saying "President Obama" at a meeting on Wednesday.

I am not a psychologist, but I love your dream, because I think what it means is all of us coming together in the mentality we had growing up in our neighborhoods, full of hope and a hard-wotking ethic.

For me, in a suburb of Pittsburgh, it was all steelworkers and retired coal miners and Pittsburgh Steeler employees that passed on a love of baseball to their sons.

We are all in this together.

10. Nice dream.
When Obama said, "You were tough on me with that e-mail, you know.", you should have taken that as a compliment. You did the right thing, and he acknowledged it in his honest albeit sharp-witted way. Good dream you had.

11. I had a perfectly normal and understandable dream about Michelle Obama last night
Well, it would be normal if I were still 14 years old.
