Connecticut Democrats' LIEberman Letter: Apologize
Connecticut Democrats want Sen. Joe Lieberman to apologize to President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden for comments he made during the campaign criticizing both men and questioning their ability to govern.

The request was made in a Jan. 16 letter from Nancy DiNardo, chairwoman of the state party, on behalf of the Democratic State Central Committee.

"We hope and expect that you will work constructively with the new Democratic president and Congress, and will give your full and active support to the Democratic agenda to help enact the policies and reforms so badly needed to get America headed in the right direction," she wrote.

Some top Connecticut Democrats, angry with Lieberman over his public support of Republican Sen. John McCain for president, originally wanted the state party to censure the senator. But after much debate, they decided DiNardo should write Lieberman a letter outlining their concerns.

The one-page letter chastises the longtime Democrat, who won re-election in 2006 as an independent after losing the Democratic primary, for speaking at the Republican National Convention on behalf of McCain.

It says Lieberman's appearance undermined the efforts of Democratic candidates in Connecticut and across the country.

Lieberman, the Democrats' nominee for vice president in 2000, plans to respond to DiNardo's letter. It was unclear whether he'll issue an apology.

4. There is no reason to bring religion into this.
Lieberman is an asshole...that's as far as you need to go.

6. Religion is the motivator for many atrocities
In this case, it is

The Neocon wet dream, PNAC, is rooted in religion as well as money and power.

10. You paint with a wide brush.
I am a Zionist Jew who is Liberal everywheres else.

I am no Neo-Con and certainly no PNAC supporter, yet I hate Lieberman for so many reasons to list.

My religion has nothing to do with it. If it did I'd support him.

16. He didn't get the nickname "Holy Joe" for nothing
I do paint with a broad brush, because I think religion has caused way more problems than it has solved. Yet, people are always holding it up to be this unifying peaceful force. Unifying? Peaceful? I have two words for you: holy war.

Whether its Jihad, the Christian Crusade or Zionism - we get the same result.

13. Joe is not religiously insane. That is just not warranted.
Please step away from this VERY close to anti semitic place you just went to.

I say this as a volunteer to stumped and phoned for Ned Lamont in 2006.

17. Ahhh the anti semite brush - last refuge of scoundrels
Almost as bad as my "all religions are bad" brush

Only difference, I'm right - show me one example of religion doing something right for a change.

I guarantee you, science is why your life is enjoyable, not religion.

So this "self hating jew" as you will probably call me should just get in line and let the religious bigots get their way huh?

19. Stand up and admit it.
I don't care what your ancestry is. If Joe wasn't Jewish you wouldn't be calling him "Holy Joe"

It's anti-semitism plain and simple.

Every time I see that moniker on him that's what it is.

I am no fan of Lieberman either. I live in CT and worked my ass off for Lamont.

2. What makes them think that arrogant delusional
lying deceitful DINO motherfucker gives a shit what they think at all? His response will not be an apology, but a self-serving, self-aggrandizing piece of shit blather about how he did what was best for the country because he knew best and it wasa his duty to enlighten everyone and he's still the best senator who ever lived, yadayadda, blahblahblah. The motherfucker will never get it. It drives me crazy that the party leadership is coddling his ass while freezing out Dean.

14. Seriously! He's been allowed to get away with every deceit,
every insult, every act of undermining the Democratic Party. Why should he bother to apologize?

The Democratic Party shows no signs of growing enough of a spine to stand up to him, so there is no benefit to him for apologizing, and no harm to him if he keeps doing what he has always done.

3. I don't think he'll apologize, but I don't see him being a thorn in Obama's side either
Obama took 61% in Connecticut, and LIEberman has to face reelection in 2012. I predict that he will be a reliable, though not a rubber stamp, vote for the Obama agenda. And I predict that LIEberman will endorse Obama's reelection in 2012.

5. 2012
If Lieberman is still able to run in 2012 for another term,I personally will remove myself from the D party and become an Independent. Further, it will prove once and for all the stupidity of Connecticut.

9. But if he does run, it won't be the Democrats fault
isn't he an Independant?

They won't have any say really if he runs or not as I'm sure they will be running a Democratic challenger.

8. If he wants to get re-elected, he'd better
I read somewhere that his sham party was taken over by folks who oppose him, so he won't be nominated by them to get on the ballot. Really the Dems are the only way he can go now, and he'd better be nice. And I still wouldn't be surprised if Ned Lamont beat him in the primary.

For all extents and purposes, Joe lieberman is "dead" to me and many other nutmeggers.
Never see the guy (and that's a mercy). He's just a Washington media personage (altho not as much as he used to be, thank god). That guy is in the wilderness. That was karma...
