2. First they said it was too big. Now it's not enough. |
|
Even though this stimulus plan is only the beginning and there will definitely be more spending later on, the media is acting like this stimulus plan is all we're going to get.

6. I turned on Morning Joe today |
|
(missed Boxer) when Mika was saying "Barbara Boxer got a little testy with me when I questioned her about some of the wasteful spending in this bill, but it IS wasteful spending!", and then the CNBC trolls rattling off. Why should we trust anything these people say?

8. actually there is some wasteful spending |
|
though one man's garbage is another man's dinner, i will concede, i'd like to see this thing focused on economic stimulus. more emphasis on things that have some identifiable long-term economic-generation potential in them. the percentage i've heard is in this is too small. education, infrastructure, R&D is good too. but some near term payoffs are possible by small business stimulating. worked well helping to get out of reagan's recession.
and overall it should be made as small as possible. giant debt is not what the world is looking for in a dollar.
personally, i think that it is unlikely to solve the core problem anyway, so it's really just "livin' off the credit card waiting for a decent gig to come along"

7. What media? The papers and magazines I read have been... |
|
spot on about it without spin.
Or could you mean that cable nooze that no one watches? Five cable nooze channels and once a week O'Rielly manages to beat Sponge Bob's ratings, while no one else can even come close to wrestling.
(That's some influence, I tell ya.)

9. I agree that newspapers and magazines seem to be ok |
|
I don't really watch much cable coverage. I used to watch some, but I thought that the media were pretty biased so I focused more on newspapers. I don't get worked up as much as I used to.
