$400,000.00 MY ASS. Fire the |
|
motherfuckers.
If your company has to take tax-payer dollars to be bailed out, then the CEOs and the people on the boards of your company, who are the ones responsible for the company being in such sorry shape should no longer be allowed to keep their jobs. If, then, they don't take the bailout money, the LET THEM FUCKING FAIL.
If I did my job the same way those jerks did theirs, I'd be out on my ass. What's good for the goose, is good for the shitheads.
Nationalize the banks, and fire the bastards who run them, too. The system to nationalize them is already in place--the Federal Reserve. And, GIVE THE STIMULUS MONEY DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE. Companies don't create jobs. DEMAND creates jobs. Put thsoe billions into the pockets of the poor and middle class, and watch this economy take off like a rocket.
Oh, and while you're at it---pass UNIVERSAL SINGLE-PAYER HEALTH CARE. Are we really willing to live in a country where a family is put out on the streets because a child is diagnosed with diabetes---because, that's where the whole damned thing is heading. The rise in costs health care procedures & health insurance is unsustainable.
Democrats, you need to get your heads wrapped around this thing, NOW, and act NOW to put in place all these things. Otherwise, don't be surprised at the coming revolution.

1. Amen. Fire the fucking leadership of those companies. Take back the bonuses |
|
and cut the thieves loose. I'm sure they can get jobs at Rush's EIB network or Free Republic.

7. Ehm, the 'federal reserve' is a privately held entity... |
|
There is nothing 'government' (re: we the people) about it.

I meant nationalizing the Fed, too.

22. Nationalizing the Fed....whoa..... |
|
that ain't gonna happen any time soon!
Yes, it would be VERY hard to do....impossible at this point. The people (and people-like entities ~ "old" families that hide behind corporations) who OWN the "Fed" (and control the money) would NEVER allow 'nationalization' (i.e., becoming a "for the people" entity).

put everything in the closet in a garage sale or take to the pawn shop. Like the rest of Americans are doing these days.

12. Companies that take the money should also be forced to cut their dividend |

We're getting screwed. I know there's a bank in Maine that upped their dividend and then took TARP money a few weeks later. Sickening.

14. That's where I disagree with Claire McCaskill, they are NOT idiots they ARE crooks. |
|
They knew exactly what they were doing and they knew it was wrong, but their greed was more important than helping the American people or the economy.
VP Biden said they should be thrown in the brig, why does one get thrown in the brig, because they ARE CROOKS.
They are domestic terrorists and should be charged with terrorism for stealing OUR money. The FBI and the IRS seize terrorists money ALL the time, they should be seizing these crooks money that they stole from taxpayers.

They are perfectly free to use the 700 billion in any way they wish. Courtesy of our wonderful Congress.

19. Universal Social Security. |
|
You should get a check of $500 a week, regardless of employment or age (as long as you make under $24,000 a year). Great for college students (since the feds can fund public universities in such a way that you'll pay no tuition and fees and room and board), great for those unemployed or underemployed or unemployable.
How to fund it? Raise the top rate of federal income taxation to 90%

26. I've been saying the same thing |
|
since this whole thing started. I fully expected termination of the CEOs to be part of the bailout deal. That is how it would go down in ANY small business. Who the hell continues to pay someone who has busted the business? I can't believe it wasn't required before receiving all those bailout bucks.
These guys are fucking crooks. It is time to take to the streets protesting - a nationwide taxpayer's movement, demanding the termination of every CEO involved, return of all bonus money, a cap on salaries...
