If it were November this would be a pretty snow shower.
What, other than the previous 60 inches of snow, has made it seem so much less pretty?

1. It's awesome when people use indexicals, demonstratives, and other indirect reference locutions...
on the fucking internet where nobody can possibly know what the fuck they're fucking talking about.

3. Well, if you don't understand things like implied "here" and the weather "it"
all your erudity is lost due to your orthogonality.

4. I understand what "here" means perfectly well. Thing is, I don't see you sitting next to me.

6. So, you can choose to raise your blood pressure
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 08:38 AM by HereSince1628
over this, or you could recognize that wherever "here" could be, by mid-winter few folks holds snow showers in awe quite the same way they do in November.

I don't believe that Robert Frost gave township and range for those woods he noticed filling up with snow as he had miles to go before he could sleep.

7. People who know me have actually wondered if it's so much as possible to raise my blood pressure...
There's little doubt, however, that nothing you say could pull off that trick.

And I know oodles of people who love snow in mid-winter essentially as much as they do at the beginning. Sure, it helps that I'm a boarder, but whatever.

10. Whoa. Hardcore.
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 08:55 AM by BlooInBloo
EDIT: The hilarity of the OP specifically mentioning "the previous 60 inches of snow", followed by you pretending that you had no-where in particular in mind - capped off with a martyred likening of yourself to Robert Frost - that's just a priceless progression.

And all just to avoid saying wtf you were talking about initially.

You've made my morning - thanks!

EDIT: Corrected misquote.

12. I'm glad you can let it out. Don't hold back
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 09:01 AM by HereSince1628
I was only speaking in general, with no particular "here" being important, about how snow showers in mid winter aren't quite so lovely as they are in November.

I think many people make such geography free statments, but clearly, I've stumbled onto something you need to work out.

This thread is here for you Bloo.

Once it's out things will seem better. Really. It's cathartic.

9. Oh, so you think you are Robert Frost re-incarnated?
Not quite.

How's about a crumb of a clue as to where in the world you might be?

Miami? Tuscon? San Diego?

and completely empathized. I've had enough snow to last a lifetime.

2. yes, I woke up and saw even more snow today
swirling around and topping off the 8 foot mounds already there. It is just another reminder that winter isnt over.
on the other hand, think of it this way...in Feb, the trees start running their sap....(thats when the maple trees were always tapped for maple sugar sap)...and when the snow melts, we will have one hell of a wet and lovely spring..
thank goodness for seed catalogs I get in the mail. reminding me this will be over soon.

Thats always a sign there are only 10 more weeks of winter.

19. I understood exactly what was meant. What makes it less pretty? Let me see....
the piles of "dirty" snow on the sides of the road,it's depressing. No power, I feel for the people south of me. I so tired of being cold, no matter how many blankets or sweaters, I still feel cold every time I look out the window. Oh and the most important thing, I want to grill something!
