Cheney says House Is Undermining the Troops. But Cheney's 5 draft deferments during Vietnam didn't?

MANALAPAN, Fla. (AP) -- Vice President Dick Cheney on Saturday accused the Democrat-led House of not supporting troops in Iraq and of sending a message to terrorists that America will retreat in the face danger.

"They're not supporting the troops. They're undermining them," Cheney told a gathering of the Republican Jewish Coalition at the oceanside Ritz-Carlton hotel in Manalapan, Fla., about 60 miles north of Miami.

On Friday, the House voted to clamp a cutoff deadline on the Iraq war, agreeing by a thin margin to pull combat troops out by next year.

The $124 billion House legislation would pay for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan this year but would require that combat troops come home from Iraq before September 2008 - or earlier if the Iraqi government does not meet certain requirements.

1. Cheney's 5 draft deferments
Edited on Sun Mar-25-07 07:47 AM by radfringe
didn't undermind the troops because, as he explained - "...had other things to do"

(typo corrected)

2. The more Cheney talks,
the better it is for democrats. Just reading the things the old boy says tends to discredit anything and everything he stands for. Watching film of him deliver his diseased positions is even better. The American people do not have a very high opinion of this vice president.

Virtually all the republicon Big Mouths failed to serve the US of A for even 5 minutes.

They just love to talk tough, and then to send our sons and daughters off to increase
republicon war profitss.

5. Democrats support the troops .....
It is the insane White House policies that are being undermined, NOT the 'troops' ...

A typically fallacious appeal from the Death Meister himself; ALWAYS confusing the military personnel with the dangerous policies espoused by the Neocon fools ..

George and Dick's insanities are NOT troops, but the troops are certainly 'undermined' by these crazy men's ideas ....

6. He sends troops over there without armor and when they...
Edited on Sun Mar-25-07 08:05 AM by nuxvomica
come home seriously injured he puts them up in roach motels and he accuses others of not supporting the troops? When Pfc. Nathan Brown of South Glens Falls, NY, was killed by a rocket-propelled grenade in an unarmored Humvee on Easter Sunday in Samarra in 2004, the Bush Admnistration had had all the funding they wanted but somehow they failed to armor his vehicle, which would have prevented the sudden end to his short life. If they can't convert funding into support, they shouldn't be getting the funding.

7. "Republican Jewish Coalition"?? The Saudis??
but wasn't Cheney's leg causing him "discomfort"? the only two places he's seemed to have spoken have been the AIPAC and this place. And he last traveled to Saudi Arabia.

Just exactly how much of our foreign policy is beholden to people with middle eastern interests? And why should someone with a conflict of interest be determining our foreign policy?

I mean, hotdogonastick, until we get rid of him, the neocons and the oil lobby, we are forever doomed as a species.

8. Hey, Dick of Death, maybe it's time to poll the troops.
Those that want to stay can stay, and those that think you and your puppet are major-league assholes can come home.
