Poll question: If Dean is nominated for a post in the Obama administration ...
... (HHS Sec, Surgeon General, etc) what reason could there be to not confirm him?

Of course I mean aside from the hatred some people have for him.

(DISCLAIMER: I asked this in another thread, but got no response)

1. It's time the truth about Howard Dean is told.
He has an old pair of penny loafers in the back of his closet.

He has not reported those pennies as income. NEXT!

2. Dean can't be Surgeon General
His medical license lapsed while he was still governor of Vermont. HHS does not require the person to be a licensed medical doctor.

Howard Dean has been pretty vetted since 2003, so don't think we'd find any surprises. And his kids are adults now, so he doesn't have to worry about not being home for them. He can still do the same scheduled to visit his wife at home and vice versa that he had when he was DNC Chair. His wife is still practicing medicine and would not want to give up her practice.

3. Fair enough.
But, just for argument's sake, couldn't he get his license reinstated?

4. Don't know what it would take to get his license back
He may have to take tests and a brief residency to get it back and that could take too long. HHS is the ideal spot for Dean.
