21. I can't believe I once wanted to be Bonaduce when "Partridge Family" was in its first run... |

He was the same age as I and had the perfect job in the world... I thought he was the coolest person on earth and I wanted to be him. But that was many years ago...

4. The GOP has done a pretty good job so far. |
|
Slashing funding so my dh lost his job in 2002 and again in 2005. That's what he gets, I guess, for working for charities.

12. Contract work sucks the big one. |

I genuinely feel for anyone in an industry that has switched to "independent contractors".

18. This isn't typical contract work |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-12-09 12:28 AM by drmeow
and I think the contract would have been renewed if one of my bosses wasn't a royal f**king pita with a Napoleon complex and a chip on his shoulder as big as the great outdoors and my other boss wasn't a spineless jellyfish who, for some reason, thinks the pita boss is important. So, even though I am "meeting or exceeding expectations" on the technical (actual work) side of my job, I don't fit the culture.
And to think I left another contract position (which had been renewed annually for 6 years with no problems) for this job cause I thought this one would be better. Now I'll have neither.
on edit
Oh, and the boss who told me I'm going to be fired said "with your skills, background and experience I'm sure you'll have to trouble getting another job" - yeah, right. It took me three years to get this one and that was before the 2nd great depression really started setting in.

11. Good question - but IMHO 1-5 will suck up to whatever team has the ball |
|
The predator class don't really care whether their stooges have a D or an R behind their names or whig or tory or whatever. But yeah, the GOP is MUCH more willing and able to kneel before their masters.

22. Has she replaced WhistleAss as the most hated person in America? |
|
I see comments from both sides slamming her. I honestly have not followed as close as I normally would but she sure has PO'd a lot of people.

as much as it would be convenient to blame someone else. Others may not help, but ultimately it is up to me. I really need to adopt the George Costanza philosophy and do the opposite of everything I decide because I sure do believe that things would have gone better.
