Gregg - was it the recusal?
http://www.americablog.com/2009/02/gibbs-issues-statement-on-gregg-and.html

In the language of White House press secretaries, this is actually a pretty tough statement from Obama's spokesman Robert Gibbs. The White House sent it out via email after Gregg quit:

“Senator Gregg reached out to the President and offered his name for Secretary of Commerce. He was very clear throughout the interviewing process that despite past disagreements about policies, he would support, embrace, and move forward with the President’s agenda. Once it became clear after his nomination that Senator Gregg was not going to be supporting some of President Obama’s key economic priorities, it became necessary for Senator Gregg and the Obama administration to part ways. We regret that he has had a change of heart”.

(end snip)

4. The man is an ass.
One thing is becoming very clear: Obama has a steel spine and the republicans are not going to jerk him around like they have other democrats.

I do think they are slowly becoming aware of this.

7. It's all so smarmy
He didn't clear his announcement with the White House, he announced he's not running for re-election, he claims the White House came looking for him when, in fact, he lobbied for the job and put his name in front of Obama's people, and all that makes me think something has gone very wrong in Judd Gregg's life and he's trying as hard as he can to start getting out of the line of fire.

I keep thinking that Jack Abramoff is singing and we don't yet know how many GOPigs are going to be implicated in his song.

11. He didn't resign -
he wasn't even confirmed yet.

I think he took everyone by surprise, including Obama and the White House.

This one has a scent about it. I think it's just begun........................
