Today's Moron Joe was so weird..tension ooozing through TV. |
|
Andrea Mitchell co-hosts while Joe goes off on everything related to the White House, namely Rham Emanuel. Joe is so jealous of the guy it's incredible. He seems to think that the first few weeks have been a disaster and it's all Rham's fault. But the best part is when Chuck Todd, who all but admitted that he's a republican, cuts off Andrea Mitchell while discussing reporter access. He better watch out, she looked at him like she would have throttled him had they not been on camera. Chuck must know she could have him killed with one phone call.
I think Andrea should replace Mika. Don't really like her politics but she is not a total dumb ass.

2. I am travelling on business and watched it a bit yesterday - first time in a long time. |
|
We cancelled all but basic cable at home so are spared the CNNMSNBCetc crap (aside from Keith and Rachel, we do miss them).
I have to say that just based on the 30 min or so that I saw it while eating in my hotel room, the show is just one big downer and pretty much useless.

3. Love that "Moron" Joe name !! Yes! Someone should replace |
|
that dingbat Mika. If you watch and listen - all she does is make these stupid comments under her breath. Constant chatter. I have seen this in business - women who have no self confidence - and merely make noise. They don't speak with any authority - and therefore no one listens to them - and they just become background noise.
I bet Chuck's a little peeved. He's not exactly the brightest bulb and Obama knows that. Think he's kind of patronized by O and he is bright enough to realize that.
I think Andrea would definitely be better than Mika. But - I can't see her taking it, can you. Seems like she would think it would be a step down?
Joe is just always living in the past - a day doesn't go by without him talking about when HE was in congress and how great his ideas and actions were.
Unfortunately - the show is the only sometimes interesting political talk in the morning - except for C-Span.

I used to watch sometimes, but Joe is intolerable now and I'm deathly sick of Pat Buchanan.

7. Joe's hang-up with Rahm is probably something very primitive: simple jealousy. |

8. Craig, your assessment it right on. |

Joe Scarborough is above all else a partisan, and even when he says nice things about Obama it's only a facade. He routinely cuts off people who are trying to make valid, opposing points in much the same way that NeoCon authoritarians have been accustomed to squelching dialog for longer than I care to remember. This morning it was all "what's wrong with Obama's administration"? Never mind that they have an incredibly large number of issues on their plates (thanks in large part to the abuses and incompetence of the past eight years). It's like watching the guest on the old Ed Sullivan Show who would balance the plates on sticks. Nobody would have asked "what's wrong with that guy" if he should happen to bobble a plate now and then. Obama's being asked (unfairly) to work miracles to atone for that absence of good government of recent years (on both sides of the aisle, I might add). He's showing a lot of ability to balance those plates, and if he bobbles one now and then, so what? It's just not a part of Joe Scarborough's political DNA to put the primary focus where it really belongs...on his own party's ineptitude.

I hope he was sent to the principal's office for a little "you can't do that to Andrea" session.
